VERY
IMPORTANT: In an effort to reduce the amount of paper we
use, I will no longer send home paper copies of our weekly news and homework
after September 16th. Please
sign up with your email address to receive a notification
each time I post new classroom information.
If you choose not to subscribe, please be sure to visit our blog at
least once a week. I will post weekly
news and homework every Monday and occasionally update the blog throughout the
week.
Here’s
a small taste of what we will do this week:

Arts: We will learn about and practice writing M words, sing songs, read books,
recite poetry, make Kissing Hand puppets, stamp our sight words (we, it) and
practice spelling them every day, match upper and lower case letters, write in
our journals, practice letter formation, sing about letter sounds, and more.
Math:
We will explore math manipulatives and sort them by color, size, and shape. We will also count by 1s, 5s, and10s, graph
the weather, and practice writing numbers 0-9.
Bible:
This week we will learn about Adam and Eve.
We will read the Bible, sing songs, recite Psalms 23:1, and pray
together every day. We will also go to
Chapel on Monday at 2:25. Parents are
welcome to join us!
Science,
Social Studies, Art, and Misc: We will learn about daytime and nighttime,
continue to learn about classroom and recess routines and procedures, talk
about Christ-like behavior and good citizenship, begin class jobs, attend art
class, music class, library, computer lab, and PE, explore the classroom during
choice time, celebrate the color yellow, and more!!!
Sharing: The Vomvokids asked if we could have a
designated share day here at school. My
answer? Of course!! We will now have a sharing time every Friday
during our afternoon meeting.
Blankets
etc: It might be easier to bring blankets to and from school in a paper or
reusable grocery bag. Their backpacks
are already pretty full!
This Week’s Homework:
Please
help your child complete a little homework each night until it is
complete.
The
following assignments should be completed by Friday:

with a parent, guardian, or older sibling, etc.
Reading together every night is VERY important. Let’s work together to develop a love of
books and reading in our children!

library books are due every Wednesday (earlier is fine).

3. TLCS has an
art display at the SC County Fair this week.
Check it out!
Thank
you for checking your child’s take-home/homework folder every night and making
