What is involved in being a Room parent?
The specific duties include:
-
Working with the teacher to plan classroom parties and special events
-
Coordinating classroom volunteer schedules
-
Attending the monthly Home & School Club meetings and
communicating information covered to classroom parents
-
Coordinating classroom auction project
-
Organizing teacher gifts throughout the year (optional)
Do I have to do it alone?
No! You can choose to share the responsibilities with another parent (split up duties and Home & School Club meetings, etc.). Either way, the trick is to DELEGATE and get lots of help! Most parents want to help- just ask! You can break up big jobs into small tasks and use online sign-up sheets so parents can choose when and how they can help – on the go!
How do I sign up?
Talk to your child’s teacher and let them know you would like to be their Room Parent. Please sign up at Back-to-School Night.
Thank you for considering this very important job!! It is going to be a great year!
