Volunteers/Harvest Party

THANK YOU SO MUCH for volunteering in the classroom!

The wonderful parents and grandparents of our Vomvokids are doing such a great job helping me with our literacy centers every Monday, Thursday, and Friday!!  In addition, we have not one, not two, but THREE Room Moms: Amelia, Jennifer, and Nicole.  These moms will be in charge of our class parties and special events.  They will also keep us up to date with Home and School Club happenings.

Speaking of class parties, we will have our Harvest Party at the end of this month.  Look for an email from our Room Moms in the next couple weeks to see how you can help (Room Moms, I will send you a separate email within the next few days).  I have it tentatively scheduled for Thursday, October 31st from 1:30-3pm.  Halloween costumes are not permitted at TLCS, but Kinders are encouraged to dress up as farmers or farm animals for our Harvest Day party.  Thank you!

Apple Request

Hello!  I am looking for someone to help me out with some treats for our Vomvokids this week.  Our "Kindergarten Rocks" jar is almost full, which means the kiddos have earned a treat!  Our theme this week is APPLES (which works nicely with our letter of the week- Aa).  I thought it would be fun to have apple pie, apple juice, and/or these cute mini caramel apples: http://christyrobbins.blogspot.com/2010/09/apple-mini-caramel-apples.html on Friday at choice time.  Also, we will taste yellow, green, and red apples on Wednesday and do apple prints on Thursday.  Please leave a comment here if you are interested in preparing treats for our class on Friday or sending red, green, and yellow whole apples to class by Wednesday (we'll need 5 of each color).  Thank you so much!!!

Wee Sing Bible Songs

Here is a link to the CD we listen to every day at rest time.  We also learn all the words and hand motions to 1-2 new songs from this CD each week.  The Vomvokids love it!:

Kindergarten Rocks!

The Vomvokids earn rocks for being good!  I can also take rocks out of the jar when the entire class acts up, but that hasn't happened yet :).  Every time I put a rock in the jar, the entire class says, "Kindergarten Rocks!"  When the jar is full, we will have a little treat or extra play time the next Friday afternoon.  These kids are so good at earning rocks; it looks like the jar will be full by next Friday!

Have a fantastic weekend!!

Back-to-School Night

It was so great talking to you all at BTSN.  What a great turnout!  I hope I was able to provide all the information you needed and answer all of your questions.  If you think of anything, please don't hesitate to ask.

Also, I forgot to mention that I tested out the email subscription gadget on this blog, and it notified me about 24 hours after I post something.  So, it might not be the most efficient way of receiving classroom updates.  Please be sure to check this blog every Monday for Weekly News and Homework.  Thanks!!
