This Week’s Homework:
The
following assignments should be completed by Friday:
1.
Phonics page for the letter of the week- Qq
2.
Handwriting page for the letter of the week- Qq
3.
2-3 choices from our monthly family activity
calendar.
4.
Sight word practice!
5.
Ten minutes (or more!) of reading every night
with a parent, guardian, or older sibling, etc.
I’m sure your child would love to read the book in his or her small
manila folder to you! Sight words are
fun to read together, too. Reading
together every night is VERY important.
Let’s work together to develop a love of books and reading in our
children!
School
library books are due every Wednesday morning.
St.
Patrick's Day:
St.
Patrick's Day is coming up; let me know if you’d like to join us! It's on a
Monday and we have art and Chapel in the afternoon, so we'll have to be
creative with our timeline...
Here's what I have in mind:
9:30-10 Build/set-up leprechaun
traps around the room in groups of 2-3.
10-10:30 Recess with the other K
class while we (teachers and parents) wreak a little leprechaun havoc in the
classrooms: create green footprints, put gold coins in the traps, etc
10:30-11:30 Class party with some
healthy green and/or rainbow snacks and fun activities at our centers
Please let me know if you can donate
Lucky Charms, Fruit Loops (for a math activity), gold-wrapped chocolate coins, themed plates and napkins, or a green
fruit/veggie tray or kebabs (grapes, kiwi, cucumber, honeydew, etc.). I have a rainbow snack lined up already J.
Homework
Option:
If you would like to build a leprechaun
trap at home with your child this week, you may do that in lieu of the homework
listed above. Please bring the trap in
on St. Patrick’s Day and we will set it up alongside the traps we’ll make in
the classroom. This assignment is optional!
