Language
Arts: We will learn about and practice writing H words, sing songs, read many books,
recite our poem about The Huge Hippo, make sight word turkeys (for, blue), and
practice spelling them every day, write upper and lower case letters, write in
our journals, sing about letter sounds, make H books, continue our literacy
center rotations, and more!!
Math:
We will continue learning about shapes
this week! This is a fun unit with a lot
of hands-on and craft activities. We will
also count by 1s, 5s, and10s (to 100!), work with tally marks, and graph the
weather.
Bible:
This week we will continue learning about Moses’ life. We will read the Bible, sing Hallelu, Hallelu, and I Love To Take A Walk, recite Psalm 95:6b,
and pray together every day.
Science,
Social Studies, Art, and Misc: This month’s themes are Thanksgiving, turkeys,
and leaves. We will also learn about the
five senses this month. In addition, we
will continue to learn about keeping fit and the importance of exercise. We will also do our team jobs, attend art
class, music class, library, computer lab, and PE, explore the classroom during
choice time, and more!!!
Sharing: We have a sharing time every Friday during
our afternoon meeting.

lunch and snack for your child, dress him or her in layers, and bring a booster

This Week’s Homework:
Please
help your child complete a little homework each night until it is
complete.
The
following assignments should be completed by Friday:
1.
Phonics page for the letter of the week- Hh
2.
Handwriting page for the letter of the week- Hh
3.
2-3 choices from our monthly family activity
calendar.
4.
Sight word practice: I, big, we, can, in, it,
like, up, a, find, see, two, not, go, to, red, have, name, is, make, play, too,
are, run, for, and blue.
5.
Ten minutes (or more!) of reading every night
with a parent, guardian, or older sibling, etc.
I’m sure your child would love to read the book in his or her small
manila folder to you! Sight words are
fun to read together, too. Reading
together every night is VERY important.
Let’s work together to develop a love of books and reading in our
children!
School
library books are due every Wednesday.
Thank
you for checking your child’s take-home/homework folder every night and making
sure it gets back to school every day. Please
remember to keep the papers in the right-hand pocket at home.
