Thanksgiving Feast

Hi Parents,

Here is a copy of the email one of our Room Moms sent out to you all last week.  So far we have the beverages, dessert, and paper products taken care of. We still need parents to provide sliced turkey, sweet potatoes,  corn, and stuffing.  Thanks!

The Vomvokids have enjoyed learning about the first Thanksgiving and have worked hard preparing Native American outfits and personalized placemats for this feast!  They are so excited!!

The Thanksgiving Feast is next Tuesday, November 26th, at 1:30.  We hope to see you all there!

FROM OUR ROOM MOMS:

(FYI- This is a public blog, which is why I leave out names and don't post pictures of students, etc.)
Hello parents of Mrs. Vomvolakis class,

We are planning a Thanksgiving Feast for our Pilgrims and Indians.
The room moms from both classes will be setting up and decorating one long table for our kindergartners to feast at!
Looking for traditional themed fair that the kiddos would like.
Our class will only be gobbling our food provided  which equals 18 (small kid portions)!

Please come join our festive party as it's always fun to share the experience with our kiddos and meet other parents!

Requested items for our party:

Sliced deli turkey

Corn ( ideas; canned, on the cob, casserole?)

Stuffing

Yams / sweet potato

Dessert / treat bags

Totally have fun make what your kid loves or pinterest your heart out lol!

Please email by Nov 22 if you would like to bring something!

Thanks again from the room moms

IMPORTANT!!

I just found out about a great opportunity to get a class book published!  Your children wrote their pages for our Thankful Book today and will illustrate their pages tomorrow.

I will work on the cover, editing, and assembly over the weekend.  I need to have it in the mail by Tuesday, November 26th (at the latest) with signed parent permission forms in order to get it published.  We will get a class copy of the book only if everyone signs and returns these forms, which will be sent home in your child's folder today.

So, please sign and return the form in your child's folder by tomorrow, Friday November 22nd, even if you do not want to order your own copy of our class book.  Thanks for your support!  You’re the best!!

Vomvokids’ Sight Words

We learn two new sight words every week in Kindergarten.  We practice reading, spelling, and writing these words every day.  Here are the sight words we have learned in class so far this year:

I
big
can
in
it
like
up
a
find
see
two
we
go
not
to
red
have
name

Please practice these words with your child at home until he or she can read them fluently.  This can count toward your nightly reading time!  When your child is able to read all of these words to me, he or she will get a prize from the prize box!  I will update the list every month.  Thank you for your support!
