100th Day Donation?

Weekly News and Homework
Language
Arts:
We will learn about and practice writing U words, sing songs, read many books, recite
our Umbrella poem (maybe it will finally rain!?), stamp our sight words (she,
three, are) and practice spelling them every day, write upper and lower case letters,
write in our journals, sing about letter sounds, make and learn to read U
books, continue our literacy center rotations, and more!!
Math: This week we will continue to learn about
measurement. We will also count by 1s,
5s, and10s (to 100!), work with our number of the day (Spanish, tally marks,
addition and subtraction problems, etc), and graph the weather. We will also continue working on addition
facts.
Bible: This week
we will learn about Elisha the Prophet. We
will read the Bible, sing along with Wee
Sing Bible Songs and Wee Sing More Bible Songs, recite and discuss Deuteronomy
31:1in its entirety (Be strong and courageous. Do not be
afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God
goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you), and pray
together every day.
Science,
Social Studies, Art, and Misc: This month’s themes are winter
animals, seasons, and weather. In
addition, we will celebrate the New Year and learn about Martin Luther King
Jr. We will also continue to do our team
jobs, attend art class, music class, library, computer lab, and PE, explore the
classroom during choice time, and more!!!
Sharing: We have a
sharing time every Friday during our afternoon meeting.

Weekly News and Homework
Here is a
small taste of what we’ll do this week:
Language
Arts:
We will learn about and practice writing K words, sing songs, read many books, recite
our Kangaroo poem, stamp our sight words (here, was, ran) and practice spelling
them every day, write upper and lower case letters, write in our journals, sing
about letter sounds, make and learn to read K books, continue our literacy
center rotations, and more!!
Math: We will start a new math unit this week:
Measurement! We will also count by 1s,
5s, and10s (to 100!), work with our number of the day (Spanish, tally marks,
addition and subtraction problems, etc), and graph the weather. We have also been working on addition facts.
Bible: This week
we will learn about King Solomon. We
will read the Bible, sing along with Wee
Sing Bible Songs and Wee Sing More Bible Songs, recite, discuss, and illustrate
Deuteronomy 31:1a (Be strong and courageous.), and pray
together every day.
Science,

Spirit Day and 100th Day News
We have had a wonderful week! The fun continues...
Spirit Day: This Fantastic Friday is also PAJAMA DAY! It will be fun to hang out in PJs all day!!
100th Day: Today is the 87th day of school-- time flies when you're having fun! That means that our 100th day celebration is right around the corner (Tuesday, February 4th). I have some fun activities planned for your children as well as a special art project for you to help your child with at home over the next two weeks.
In lieu of the regular weekly homework for the weeks of 1/21 and 1/27, I would like you to help your child create a work of art using 100 objects. Here are a few examples:

Lastly, if you would like to organize a 100th day snack buffet (Room Moms??), please let me know! I found this sample online, but our buffet could be any combo of food items. :)

Weekly News and Homework

our lion poem, stamp our sight words (soon, little, down) and practice spelling
them every day, write upper and lower case letters, write in our journals, sing
about letter sounds, make and learn to read L books, continue our literacy
center rotations, and more!!
Math: We will continue our unit on Numbers through
10. We will also count by 1s, 5s, and10s
(to 100!), work with our number of the day (Spanish, tally marks, addition and
subtraction problems, etc), and graph the weather. We have also been working on addition. Next week we will start our unit on
measurement.
Bible: This week
we will learn about Samson. We will read
the Bible, sing along with Wee Sing Bible
Songs and Wee Sing More Bible Songs, recite, discuss, and illustrate
Proverbs 20:11 (Even small children are known by their actions, so is their conduct really pure and upright?), and pray together every day.

WELCOME
BACK! I hope you all had a great break!! I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and
an exciting trip to France with my sister and two best friends. I can’t wait to tell the Vomvokids all about
it and hear about their adventures as well!
